RE: Fav. Alcoholic Beverages
>best beer in the world is SAM ADAMS BOSTON LAGER!!!!
Man, I can feel your enthusiasm.
I personally like "unfiltered" beer. This type of beer has translucent appearance and has "beer yeast" that are actually alive. They also have fruity flavour.
But with your convincing enthusiasm, I do not want to disagree with your opinion, and I do like SABL too.

JPN

>live yeast FTW!
Yes, live beer yeast. For this reason, those beers are considered premium and are strictly temp-controlled to keep the yeastalive (and are more expensive accordingly). Theyactually have quite a few health benefits. One mfgin Japan, called Milkyway Highland, was the first one to come up with those beer in Japan, and they have German Meister (with Bachelor's degree in brewing) as their chief. Kirin, the largest beer mfg in Japan, has also began selling some "unfiltered" beer with live yeast in them. It is a shame that Milkyway Highland actually wend down the hill lately, as most Japanese consumers wanted "mass-produced" bland beer, rather than "home-brewed" types.
Here's Milkyway's web page, but they don't have English page at the moment:

RE: Fav. Alcoholic Beverages
An addition to my Scotch enthusiasm.
Glenlivet-16 years or older. The 16-year modelhas a totally different flavour compared to the 12-year version (The 12-year is worthless IMO). You would be surprised that mere4 years of difference makes a noticeable difference in flavour. Most "affordable" Scotch are 12 years old, and compared to "genuine" Scotch (16-43 years old), the affordable versions are nothing.

http://www.theglenlivet.jp/introduct...eup/index.html
The "Vintage" selections (1964-1972, etc...), found in Japanese market, are close to US$900/bottle.
I was a bit surprised, that in general the cost of everything is higher in Japan than almost anywhere in the world, but Scotch whiskey & used cars seem to be exceptions. You'd be surprised that a 3-4 years old Lexus are affordable to many people, and the reason is that traditionally people in Japan never liked something that is "used".
