I was under the impression that BMW's were as safe as Volvo's. This bimmer looks like the roof did not hold it's own weight. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRFXS...eature=related

Yeah, that's a really old 7 series, made before there were stringent roof strength standards. BMWs are quite safe, in that they, like other european makers that sell here in the US, will exceed any safety regulation thrown at them. But if something isn't regulated, they'll often ignore it. That's where Volvo comes in- if they can think of some way to improve their cars' safety, they'll start producing it, even if it's never required. In this day and age, almost all cars are passing the frontal crash tests with flying colors, and most do well in side impacts. It's all the other, non- regulated stuff that Volvos tend to beat everyone else out in

Regardless, that idiot got what he deserved for pulling that dumb stunt.

Here's a serious video. It gave me goosebumps. There's nothing like a turbo overpowering the sound of the entire car.

This is one of my favorites. Love the in car and rally perspective. Some day maybe I'll get one of those C30's things put an AWD drive train under it and go rallying.
