LOL, I don't think that works for Volvo's. They do count mileage upwards while in reverse though. It would take me 30 years to rack up 1 million miles. Don't think I could own a car that long. The longest was my 740 GLE. It had 400,000 in 17 years.

 

If your 740 only had 400K miles after 17 years, it seems like it would take you more like 40 years to get to a million. I could keep a car for 40 years but it would not be my DD.
