Default Have some questions

Not sure if this is in the right place but I'm sure it'll be moved/corrected if not.

I'm pretty new to the Volvo scene, always wanted one but could never find any good ones around me.
Recently found a 1999 S70 T5 with 320,xxx kilometers on local classifieds, was just looking for information as to what to look for, signs of something on it's way out, price to pay, etc or if I should just stay away from it all together.

Thanks in advance.

Hi CM, just noticed this post. Best to use the boards for the Volvo specific models when possible to get the most views with those who know. Key things to look for are similar to the 850s - I think there's a sticky for a check list on the 850 model board. Mostly 1) when was the timing belt done and is it past due? 2) does the AC blow cold - and stay cold on a warm day 3) any engine oil leaks? is there smoke coming from the dipstick when pulled on a running engine (sign that the PCV system is clogged) 4) how does it shift? Is the tranny fluid red, brown or black (black is bad...)? Prices vary - a very clean example with 200K miles (320K Km) may fetch 2500-3000 USD but I'd search Autotrader or similar services to see what the market is asking.
