Idk if im just being a little paranoid or not, but i got an email from an individual looking to buy soemthing from me, he offered to pay with cashiers check and asked for my address, i told him to use paypal. i think i remember readin somewhere that ppl run scams like this and can mess with you with your address and name, is this a legit threat, or am i just being paranoid?

Either that or play them and just have them send it to a fake address. it's super funny.

I had a similar experience with these people when I was selling some stuff....
I still have a check from one of these bastards.
I am keeping it for evidence. we even made a report with the FBI.
Good thing we are good friends with some agents

Now, when I recieve a spam email, from somebody, I sign that email up for some **** sites.

I been trying to sell this really crappy guitar for a while on craigslist, I got this reply from a lady that said she lived in Phoenix and was sending some movers to get this guitar and that she would pay me with a cashiers check...all for a $100 guitar.

I am a fraud investigator with a bank - yes that is absolutely a scam - no you typically dont have to worry about them stealing your identity just by them having your address.

I would say ALWAYS use cash or amazon payments when doing transactions online!
