Scan Gauge

Scan Gauge
My new Volvo V40 recently through a P0303 code, but the auto parts stores here in Colorado will not reset the CEL. I have been interested in getting a ScanGauge, well because they look pretty cool. Does anyone know if the Scan Gauge will read codes and let you re-set the CEL light? Any other feed back on the Scan Gauge, or other products that you guys might be using for diagnosing problems.

ScanGauge will let you do it. I run an UltraGauge which is similar in concept...
UltraGauge has a nicer form factor and a screen that's MUCH easier to see. It will also support far more gauge functions right out of the box. It's also about half the price. Unfortunately it's a buggaboo to learn how to use it properly, and it's made in China. I can't tell you how many fillups I've flubbed trying to learn to use this thing (there's a certain order you have to do it in), and it took me a couple of weeks to get it set up with the gauges I wanted to see.
ScanGauge is FAR easier to use, and has all your basics covered. It's made in the USA, and for advanced users, it also allows you do do some programming. Unfortunately the one I had saw the backlighting fail literally a few weeks after the warrantee was up.
Both are essentially similar, though: allow real-time monitoring of a lot of different running parameters, scan and clear codes, best used to maximize fuel economy (which is what I use it for). Both will scan and clear codes, BTW, on the fly, as you drive, if you so wish.
