Nice. Whoever had the NSX didn't push it very hard. Used to have one of those and they are very good on the track. They just require lot of throttle through the corners due to mid engine weight distribution. A friend of mine who had one also used to race professionally, and what he could do with that car was incredible.

They are very nice cars. Another reason the NSX's need lots of throttle in corners is because, by supercar standards, they don't have a lot of power/torque. They have very high cornering limits, which equals lots of drag in a turn, so they need lots of throttle. The engines really need to be kept on the boil. It can be hard if you're not used to the high cornering speed AND having to keep the engine in the powerband. I know I found the NSX I drove needed not so much constant attention, but you really had to think about how to drive it fast. It wasn't an overpowered, point and shoot type car.
Not uncommon to see someone new to NSX's drive them fairly conservatively, they are an excellent chassis that offers lots of feedback, most drivers under 30-35 aren't used to cars that offer lots of feedback and it takes time to get used to that.

Well put. Driven well, you'd get passed in the straights and catch back up in the corners. On occasion I came into the corner too hot and had to just throttle on through it. If you let up that was when you would spin.

Yes they're a classic mid engine chassis in that respect. They feel a lot like mid engine Lotuses to drive, many similar quirks like very good feedback, nimble, adequate power etc.
I think the NSX is an absolute bargain too, an amazing car and very cheap entry into the supercar market.
I would like to see what would've happened if Volvo tried a supercar, maybe a 2.5T Koniegsegg?

Liked the Lotus too. Few years back test drove a 90's esprit. Hated the footwell though. Even heel toe shifting, just not enough room for me.

Don't feel bad about "gramma car". Few years back bought a 04 XJR and it was a beast in straight line. Had an M3 go at it with me and couldn't believe it was stock. Sleepers are fun.
