What did you do to your car today?

I installed an OBX exhaust on my S60 today. The fit and finish of OBX is surprising considering the cost. Sounds nice and deep. But man, what a PITA to do in the garage. That's the first and last exhaust I want to do with just hand tools. While I was down there I changed out the flex pipe and oxygen sensors.

Sheeeeeet, you guys don't do much around here.
Today I took my whole interior out. Seats first, then ran the carpet cleaner on all carpet, both front seats and rear seat bench and back. Proceeded to take all plastic out, from kick panels to e brake console. Cleaned and treated everything. Replaced a few burnt out bulbs, zip tied some loose stuff. Took out the now broken door pockets....then put it all back together. No leftover screws or nuts!

Headrest DVD's
OK, it is not the Volvo (it has factory headrest DVD's) but the Mini Van did not and we are taking a road trip to Baltimore, DC and Annapolis next week so I thought I would give these a try. At less than $250 I was not expecting much. They are better than I expected.
The install was easier than I expected. Especially with no real directions included. I went with powering from the accessory cig lighter than the hard wire approach. Everything else went neatly behind the seat skin and under the center counsel.
The headphones are better quality than the Volvo (we will have to see if they last) Came with 2 remotes, 2 wireless game control, and the IR headphones.
Now, lets see if they last.

Now that the Saturn is done and sold, time for the restoration and stage 0 on the 850.
REPLACED THE PCV SYSTEM: The car has about 192,000 and the dipstick did NOT smoke. Well, a few of the guys encouraged me to do the PCV anyway. I don't think it was EVER done. My guess is that the PTC valve was NOT clogged, that's why the dipstick did NOT smoke. However, the lower hole in the block was almost totally clogged and the top hole had some gunk in it. I scraped it out with a long wood screw.
SERVICED THE EGR: A few days before I took the car to have the transmission done I was getting an EGR error. P0410 or something like that. Well, during the PCV system replacement I decided to paint the manifold (black ) so I pulled the manifold with the EGR attached. When I pulled the EGR off of the manifold to make sure the port to the intake was clean, it seemed ok, that is if that port was suppose to be a weep hole. Well, I stuck a tiny screw driver in it to make sure the hole went all the way to the throttle housing and the hole got a little bigger, then bigger, then bigger, it was almost totally clogged. A hole that started out as big as the hole on your cd drive (to eject it manually) and ended up being large enough to stick a pencil through it. WOW!
PAINTED THE MANIFOLD and FRONT SIDE OF THE MOTOR. Cleaned up the manifold and painted it along with the front half of the motor.

Fixed the lock on the tailgate/hatch (wouldn't lock with the key from the outside, only via the electric locks), so at least something got accomplished today!
I'm all set to start the timing belt, started looking under the hood and decided I really should replace the serpentine as well, so I picked that up at the local AutoZone, along with a few minor sundries the PO never bothered with like new headlight bulbs and wiper blades. Got home to discover the serpentine tensioner tool I have doesn't have an adapter that will fit the tensionder socket, and my 1/2 to 3/4" socket adapter won't fit down there either. The local Sears had a kit that looks like it'll work, but it started raining on the way home, so now I'm stuck inside until it lets up. I live in an apartment, so I'm a literal shade tree mechanic - no garage for me!
I'm trying to motivate myself to go back out and at least start cleaning the interior - the seats could use a good conditioning and cleaning if nothing else.
