Funny you should talk about that nut. I came on here to post that tonight I took that nut off and put it on the RIGHT way (for both wheels). I had them both upside down when I did my struts a month ago and tech warned me it would be a rough ride. He was definitely right. Under certain conditions, you can hear the giant THUNK of the wingnut hitting the strut mount. It took all of 5 minutes each to take them off and put them on the right way, with the flaps on top, and not on the bottom........

That being said, I also installed my new IPD Torque mount, but haven't taken it for a test drive. I got the new revised one that comes with two sets of bushings, the default blue ones and the stiffer black ones. The black ones almost feel like solid hard plastic, but in order to change them, you really do need a solid vise to tap the center out and install the harder bushings. I just left the blue ones in. They are definitely stiffer then the stock ones, but not as hard as the new optional ones that comes with it.

Yesterday, for the first time, I degreased the engine. Amazing what a mess accumulates under there, but now instead of looking like an engine with 86k on it, it looks like it only has 50k... yeah.

Saturday I changed the oil and replaced it (Amsoil) with the Valvoline High Mileage 75k synthetic stuff. I don't know if it's actually made a difference or not, but I'd rather be safe then sorry. I've read on other forums that if you use it for a while, it actually does help the seals and so forth, but who knows. I'll try it.

Washed the car today after yesterdays nasty storm and then applied liquid silicone to all the door and trunk gaskets/seals.. Then used this wax for an inbetween full detail shine (http://www.turtlewax.com/main.taf?p=2,1,1,1)

Filled it with 93 octane premium as I strongly suspect my wife uses (gasp) regular or 89 octane at best. And I learned from Somethngfrce that its ok to use silicone on the seals.
Its a low pressure '06 5 cyl turbo so it won't grenade itself on lower octane. But for a buck or two a tankful, why take chances?

Washed, polished and waxed my car today. Meguiars Show Car Glaze and NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0. I like the wax! Easy to go on, easy to wipe off.

Last week, birds demolished my hood the day after I cleaned it up. I mean they completely covered it. It had to have been a flock of birds.

Drove it around for the first time since I bought the car. I recently replaced the PCV system, odometer gear, and changed oil. I am really loving how the engine sounds and how it seems to have pretty good torque.

I will probably wash it today since the weather is pretty nice.

Replaced the radiator and changed the transmission fluid on the yellow one. One of the bolts that go straigt up from the bottom would not come out. I turned it so hard that I broke the nut off and then it just spun around. Took the battery out so I could get to it and drilled the nut off. I could not even turn the damn thing with visegrips holding it. That bolt took me two hours, but other than that it went pretty smooth.

Still working on the R spoiler for it. Tuesday I had it all done and was trying to put it on by myself. It was sitting on the trunk and I had to walk over to the work bench. It fell off and onto the blacktop, scratched the heck out of it and nicked up the edge of the lip. Picked it up off the ground, walked over and set it on the work bench and came in and watched TV. How I didn't just slam something I will never know. Got it all fixed up now and ready to clear coat the messed up areas, but the parts store was out of the clear coat I had been using. Now I am driving a yellow T5R with no spoiler at all. Looks kind of strange.

I'm going to post this early since I won't be online to post it...

Saturday, will be replacing the voltage regulator, new brake pads all around, and waxing it for the first time. I picked up that new Turtle Wax ICE stuff, so I'm dying to try it out and see if it's as great as everybody says.

AND, for the first time, I will actually have pics of my car, after oh, 9 months. Pretty sad, I know.

I use it after washings and it takes maybe 10 minutes on and off! Exellent stuff, but I still use Mothers Gold every 90 days with an orbital. The Ice is more like a touchup in between buffings.

I have not had very good luck using my buffer with black cars. I think I need to buy some better pads for the disc. I'm going to use ICE for now but I need to find something that works well with an orbital. You say Mothers Gold does a good job?

That was from the camera. When I took the pic the setting was at about 15 with the key on. But it looked like rolling numbers through the camera. It is funny how alot of times things look funny through the camera and not with out eyes.

Now If I can only find out why I am running to rich at WOT then I will have it made.

Yep that is pretty rich...

I sometimes see 10s but most of the time I am in the 11.5ish.....I am only at 14psi on the little 13C. I would love to do 16psi, but I know the 13c would fry! Maybe do a 3" MAF, 46lbs injectors, IPD turbo cam, and a 19T turbo...that would be awsome!

You want to be at 12.....But I hear once you go past 12.6, you need to back off.

I might try the stock ECU and see if it runs a little leaner.
