what model 6 cylinder was in the 760

Early models with 6's used the B28. In 87 when they re-tooled the body they introduced the B280. In addition to the B23FT and B230FT 4 cylinder motors, the 760 also was offered early on with an intercooled turbo diesel. It was the fastest turbo diesel production car in the world at the time.

My first Volvo was an 85 760 Turbo Diesel. That think was fast, got 40 mpg, blew out black smoke like a truck, but still blew the doors off of many so called fast cars. Maybe it was because once you got in front of them they could not see where they were going. It really blew black smoke.
My my 2nd was an 89 760 Intercooler which had the turbo charged four cylinder. I think that was a better engine than the six cylinder gas model.
Then I got my first 850, a 94 850 Turbo. Totally different car and probably my favorite car that I EVER owned. I've had three of them now and hope to keep the T5R forever.
