Hello All, it's been a while since I visited due to the issues we were seeing, and shall we say, life issues, but the site seems much better. I'm glad to see most of the familiar names still here. It has been 5 months since this happened, but I am still singing tech's praises.

I own a 2002 V70 Turbo and the brake booster was whistling for months. Everyone, including my garage dude said, if I can stand the noise, drive it. Finally it got to be too much to take. The dealership told me it would be on the + side of $1000, so you can probably guess my reaction. I found tech's post on changing the booster on a 2001 and figured it couldn't be that much different.

I bought a rebuilt unit from a parts store and set aside a solid day to do it.Five hours later, it was in and working perfectly. The only nervous point was when I had to move the antilock module out of the way. Tech, you did not say enough when you said "cautiously, carefully" move it. That part with also pulling the booster out from underneath the firewall took probably an hour. Talk about nervous.

Anyway, job done for $179 and5 hours of my time. Thank you so much for your help with this and the many other projects you have advised me on. I know tech is not alone here and have used all of your inputs when fixing my ride. When the rest of you save me $800 I'll sing your praises as well.

He saved me tons aggrivation by helping me replace my timing belt with his advice. First time I've ever done a belt and I couldn't have done with without him, plus the 188475 other things he's helped me with should be mentioned as well.

If it wasn't for him I may have shot myself by now
