280 STERN DRIVE LIFT

I have an AQ225D with 280 sterndrive which fails to lift.

Is there anything I can easily check while the boat is out of the water - the operation of the latch for example?

What is the procedure for finding the fault?

u need to check fluid first
is the motor working?
