Has anyone ever connected both power steering pumps to the starboard (single) actuator? I was thinking about connecting them with ball valves and tees so that the power steering can be simply switched over if the starboard engine is down. My boat is in a tidal river and I am constantly picking up sediment which clogs the intakes until I can operate at full throttle. Unfortunately, if I have to stop the starboard engine due to overheating, I lose power steering which is usually at a bad time (docking and menuvering in the river with other boats around).
