As the title says, I’m looking to sell my 1995 Volvo 850 Turbo sedan. My father bought this car in 1998 from a dealer after it was leased and then I purchased it from him when I was 17. We have saved all of the service receipts since the car has been in my family. Regular oil/filter changes have always been done.

Normal repairs/replacements like the timing belt and ball joints/struts have been done. The car just passed inspection a month ago and I replaced the two rear tires as the treads were close to not passing.

The only major issue is that the odometer broke when I was in college and I did not have the funds to have it replaced (dealer wanted a ludicrous number and it wasn’t legal to take an odometer from a junkyard car if I remember correctly). The odometer reads 133k miles but it is probably somewhere close to 400k miles.

I hit a deer going ~35 mph in 2012. Only needed to replace a headlight and the hood. No major structural damage.

The KBB suggestion for this car at 400k miles in good condition is around $2748 and fair condition is $2325. The condition of the car is somewhat between these, but I’m looking for ~1700.

A more detailed list of good/bad things:

Good:
-Turbo still makes it fun as hell to drive.
-Has the Volvo premium sound system with a 6-CD changer located in the trunk. Cassette slot built into the dash that I use for my ipod.
-Power-adjustable front seats.
-Radiator replaced ~2 years ago.
-Engine still in great shape.

Bad:
-It’s almost a 20 year old car. There is normal wear and tear on it from that many years of use, such as scratches in the front from rocks on the highway, fraying stitching on the seats, scuffs/scrapes here and there on the interior, etc.
-Busted odometer.
-Moonroof only opens upwards, doesn’t roll back properly.
-Will probably need new brakes within a year.
-AC could use work if you can’t stand the august heat.
-Engine sometimes burns oil if the car idles for too long in the summer.
-The motor that controls retractable antenna isn't aligned right. The antenna stays at half-height at all times.
