Clean 96 850R SportWagon for sale
I'm a new member and am cutting down from 4 to 3 cars as I'm now in retirement. The car we chose to sell is our black on black 1996 850R SportWagon.
We bought the CAR NEW out of the showroom, it has spent all its time in Northern California (meaning no snow and no rust) and has been garaged over all the time we have had it. The car now has 172,500 miles on it and for the past several years has been used mostly for local trips of 20 miles or less.
The car has been maintained as recommended by Volvo since purchase. Service has been provided by Smythe European in San Jose (where we purchased the car) and Carlsen Volvo in Palo Alto. We switched from Smythe to Carlsen when Smythe moved too far South. They have complete records on the car.
The engine and Turbo are in good condition and continue to run like new. The interior is in excellent condition and the outside is in good shape given the 17 years we have had it. The car has had one minor accident. The back door was damaged when I was rear ended in a shopping center parking lot. The damage was fixed immediately. The tires are not new, but are reasonable.
There are issues with the car which need fixed. Very expensive for me, not so bad if you can do your own work. The air conditioning no longer works, probably the condenser. The key ignition module need replaced. A front wheel bearing needs replaced.
I am asking $4,700. It's a special Volvo with lots of good miles for a real enthusiast.

lister99,
Thanks for the input. Remember that on the West Coast, there is no rust, the engine shows no oil leakage at all and the inside has remained almost like new, given that at is almost 17 years old. Engine compression is strong. I realize that I may have to come down since there are mechanical repairs that need to be done, so it is a starting point.

Again, thanks for the input. I'm happy to supply larger pictures, including the engine bay and drivers side seat/floor, but I'm not sure how to do it. Guidance would be helpful and I'll try to figure it out from my side.
Maybe you can post them on your online e-mail account server, like GMail or somewhere. You can usually upload a lot of pics then post a link to them here.
You can also post larger pics on craigslist and link the listing back here.
