Default Selling my 2001 V70XC AWD 170k for $3800

I really hate to get rid of this; it's my first Volvo and I really like it. It’s my daily driver, so there’s nothing that keeps it down. I'm about 20 minutes from Midway, so if you are out of state you can fly into Midway and drive it home. It's completely roadworthy, drives straight, good tires, brakes, motor and trans are tip-top.
This AWD V70XC is rugged, fast and the motor is mechanically perfect. It’s got a new timing belt and water pump, new RH drive axle and ball joint, front brakes, torque mount bushing, good tires all matching on stock aluminum rims, amazing sound system, AM/FM, plays CDs and cassettes. iPod or MP3 player works through the cassette deck with an adapter (not included). Cruise control works, all windows, locks and 2-way sun roof fully functional. All gauges, lights (interior and exterior) work, the bright lights do not stay on. However the front bumper lights work to compensate somewhat. The brights work if you hold the actuator on, as soon as you release they are off.
It’s an automatic but you can shift it manually if you are prone to deep snow driving or off-roading. The ABS system works like a charm. It has and 8.2 in ground clearance. This is a high end model for 2001, $41,000 new. The motor is turbo-charged. It’s never delivered less than 21 mpg and has gotten 33 on the open road. It’s a 2.4 litre 5 cyl, 20 valve delivers 260 hp at 5500 rpm.The 2001 is the first model year for this body style, which was the same through 2007, called the "Second Generation" V70.
It's got few issues such as a suspension rattle in the front, and the axle seal on the transfer case is leaking 2/10 liter between oil changes. It’s going to need a LH CV joint at some point, the RH motor mount needs replacement causing more vibration than you might expect. The climate control unit is from a 2000 S60.
The SRS airbag warning light is always on. The airbag in the drivers seat is defective. It’s an $800 fix. I prefer the light. Also, the drivers side seat heater does not work, but the passenger side works great.
My granddaughters really like the rear-facing seat. Gonna miss that. The leather interior is decent for a car pushing 170k. All the windows, sunroof and door locks work, 2 working key fobs included. It’s a city car so there are a lot of parking lot dings, but none through the paint. The crimson red shines like new. I know the previous 2 owners, both kept it garaged, neither smoked.
That’s the good and the bad, The only reason I'm selling this is that my son gave me his '02 Explorer with less miles on it. I'm really going to miss the Volvo's gas mileage and speed though! The V70XC is very nimble in Chicago traffic. It's huge but it feels like a sports car.
