I have read many of the posts without finding a solution. When starting car after locking and unlocking with either of my 2 FOB's a message on dash says Alarm needs servicing. Panic alarm works. All doors and trunk lock and unlock. When armed red alarm light flashes at regular intervals. No problem whatsoever but I want to pass this car with low mileage --55000 to another and want to solve this problem. In addition to these checks I tried holding trip odometer stem in pos1 and pos2 ignition but the warning still persists for 10-15 seconds every time I start vehicle. Out of ideas. Should I replace alarm siren even though it functions okay?

 

i found out the alarm had failed when my sunroof was locked open. i could not believe i had to spend 230.oo on a new siren/w battery to cure problem. Did some forum searching and found this to be the solution. 230 later sunroof works and alarm works. Try the sunroof check. i know this is not much help in clearing the code but may help in diagnosing the alarm condition.
