i dont want to bash.. but.. yes that is a great place for an intercooler..... on a subaru.

if you were going to go through all that effort why not front mount?
?

Look more carefully, it has a front mount as well

why does it need 2? you have like 20 feet of piping?

the top mount is to cool down the charge from the turbo into the supercharger. this car is compound charged

After watching the vid's i can't find the supercharger, but does sound a bit like it. or loose belt.

That is certainly unique. I am with Matt01 on this intercooler on top of the engine. Can you explain how air is moved through this intercooler to help with cooling? I cant/dont see any clearance between the head and the intercooler. Have to admit unless there is something forcing air through it some how it seems pointless.

Beleive me, the charge coming out of the tmic is colder than it ever was coming out of the standard interboiler.
the air is forced onto the top mount through the hood scoop

Okay, I'll ask. What will your compound 'charged V do? Was it worth the time and expense? Just curious.

To answer your question "was it worth the time and expense" it took less than three weeks of evenings and weekends to do the conversion (although it has had constant improvements over the past 18 months) and cost about £350 (I don't know how much that is in $ but would say about $700) so it was a very cheap job, the benefits are, I can run a large turbo with zero turbo lag and huge boost if I want it.
