Door is Shut, but Chime will not go off???

Door is Shut, but Chime will not go off???
Might any of you have any comments, suggestion, etc., on my 1999 V70 GLT? When I shut the door, the chime/bell still goes off, as if the is open. Please help!!

The latch mechanism has the switch for the door light, chime, etc. all contained. Try spraying the door latch with silicone spray to wash out the dirty. Sometimes works. Otherwise, time for a new latch assy. Dealer item. I have replaced more than a few.

Thanks Tony, I will try that spray fix, first. Failing that...do you have any tips on getting the switch out, or instaling a new one. Anything I should be aware of? Since you have done this before, your knowledge is most helpful.
