Default Doesn't start after 3 weeks in carport

Hi Guys,

We have a 1997 V70 that has been in our carport while we where away over the christmas break. So my wife wanted to get some things from the supermarket, and ...nothing. The engine cranks over, starts for a split second and than just keeps cranking. We took it to a mechanic, he tested the fuel system, all good, fuel pressure good, pump working, spark is there but some where down the fuel line is an issue. He reckons it is the immobiliser. He had the car running on Airosol or some starter spray while I was there, so the engine runs but just not on the petrol coming out of the tank. Is there anyone out there that had similar problems??? We appreciate any help !!!

Have a great evening

Jens

Is that a 850 wagon or V70? There is a chance that you have a MAF issue or bad ICV (Idle Control Valve). Does the ICV humm when you turn the key on? Also, he really needs to make sure he is getting good fuel pressure, like 45 PSI. A bad fuel pump may put out less pressure and not open the injectors. There is a fuel pump relay that goes bad in these cars and causes intermittant problems with the pump and the fuel injector relay is at the fan schrod.
