Default 2 problems in 2 weeks after the warranty expired ?!

Factory warranty on our XC90 expired 07/30/09 -on 08/03/09 after filling up at the full service gas station the xc showed " loose fuel filler cap" (loose gas cap) message. Of course gas cap was NOT loose, both dealer and my indie said it was the computer, dealer said there was a "software update" for 180+some $$. I removed filler neck housing and moved filler pipe side ways, re-installed the rubber housing and --HA-HA - no more messages.
Glad, I did not go to a Lexus dealer, I was thinking I could keep XC90 who knows maybe 2-3 more years...

Until yesterday it shows f%^*! "LOW OIL LEVEL-FILL OIL" message - had that exactly 1 year ago. Oil level was fine, it was oil level sensor gone bad, happened after driving in hot humid weather, was fixed under warranty then.

Now the same sh*&!t only the warranty expired!!

Volvo NA says it has to be diagnosed by VOlvo dealer to ask them for assistance -the diagnostics alone is $125.00 + tax,
and according to the dealer assuming it is the same problem Volvo NA will cover cost of the part ($180), and I would be responsible for the labor (what is it -250-300?)

Any one knows how many hours Volvo allows to replace defective oil level sensor?

Thanks a lot.
