I just bought a 1984 244 GL. The guy I bought it from said after he undid the speedometer cable at the transmission to replace a mount. He says he reinstalled the cable, but now the speedometer and odometer are inoperative.
Is there a trick to connecting the cable at the transmission he didn't know about? Are these cables expinsive/available? How much of a hassle is it to replace the entire cable?
Hope this isn't a repeat question. Searched, couldn't find anything related. I'm a bit nervous as this is my first car that's not a Ford or Chevy and it seems to have a homemade engine wiring harness. *GULP*
