My 1985 240 has been sitting for a while so i went to start it one day to sell it and no start. I have a new fuel pump relay in it, new battery, and nothing. I do not hear a fuel pump humm when i turn the key. All fuses are fine. Ideas???

 

Make sure your connections to the battery are clean. Go to www.stepbystepvolvo.com and click on "Basics of Diagnosis and Other Hints," which shows a common spot where the battery ground cable corrodes.
