1986 240 DL electrical problem?
So I've been having some problems with this one here and could use some help. About a year ago in the winter I started having problems. First the blower motor went out in my car(have not replaced yet) then it started idling really high at all times around 30 mph or so. I let the car sit until about a week ago and decided I'd like to get it running again. First thing I did was replace the idle controller and it was running really well. I drove it for about 10 min or so and it died on me. Found out the battery was pretty much dead and was the wrong size battery for the car. So I replaced that too. After about a day of driving it the dashboard wasn't lighting up, parked the car and it was idling fine. I turned the **** for the heat/air all the way to 4 and the lights in the car went really dim, headlights too, wipers were also being really sluggish. Now it won't start and that's where I'm at, any suggestions/help appreciated, thanks!

Well I guess I should have explaned what's going on with the dashboard lights better. I already figured I need a new altenator, but after I fully charged the battery the lights on the dashboard are still really dim and won't be able to see it at night. I can see that the left and right blinkers in the dashboard kind of pulse brighter and dimmer. I think there's a short coming from somewhere that's causing all my roblems but I'm not sure where to start. Thanks for the help so far!
