For some time i have heard a rattleing noise coming from my volvo's engine. At first i was troubled and thought that there might be something wrong with it. Then after i investigated i figured out that there is a shield around the hearder pipe and it is loose! I have tryed taping it and i also drilled holes through it and tryed to tighten it with screws. Now i am to the point of trying to cut it off but before i get to that i figured i would ask around and see if anyone has had this issue and if so how you fixed it.

 

I think it takes three bolts.....the bottom one came loose on mine.......use a locking washer when you tighten the bolts....

 

i didn't see any bolts on it. it looks like they just slid the shield over the pipe before they put it on. i will be sure to look and make sure that i didn't overlook the bolts you are talking about
