I have a 1990 volvo 740 GL with the B230 non turbo engine. I replaced the fuel filter (it was nasty, sat for 3 years) the fitting and seal from the pump was just fine, however the output fitting is horrible and doesn't seal, it leaks gas, a lot. Basically the fitting is a 90 degree bolt-in hose. I can't find it anywhere! It seems simple but it's no where to be found if anyone knows where i can find this piece I'd greatly appreciate it.

 

This sounds like the same setup on my 940. It has been several years since I replaced mine but seem to recall there being a brass or copper washer that went between the fitting and the units. I also recall tightening it beyond what I thought was necessary but it did seal with the new metal washers and some elbow grease.

Searched IPD and FCP Groton but neither site show any fittings. A trip to the Volvo dealer might be in order to see what your options are.

 

Try a junkyard for best results.

Thanks guys, it was actually the copper seal washer on the fitting the fitting was actually perfectly fine after I cleaned it up. THANK YOU ---- Steve
