Default 1986 240DL No Brakes Lights

Replaced both rear assemblies. Have tail lights, back-up lights, and turn signals...but no brake lights (or 3rd brake light in window). Have checked switch under brake pedal. Get good reading on Fluke meter when depressing brake. Fuse is good. Is there something I am missing under the dash??? H-E-L-P!!!!

Gosh, never thought to look at the brake light bulbs! I bought the new assemblies complete with bulbs. New membranes, etc. Should it be a two-wire bulb? Or, a one wire? BTW, this is the 240 sedan... Thanks.

Redbottle: Single filament bulbs in the brake sockets. Ohmed with Fluke meter. Good. Also took the bulb failure sensor from its socket and dismantled to look at the solder connections. All appeared good, but touched them up with the iron, in hopes...still no brake lights. Have ordered another sensor. Hope this fixes the problem. Will let you know when it arrives.

should be 2 metal connections on the bottom of the bulb for brakes lights 1 for everything else if I am not mistaken I believe the brake bulbs are 1157 and the bulb holder should also have 3 metal pieces on them unlike the others with 2. Good luck please continue to share we all have these problems at one point or another.
