Default 1987 240GL issues

Hey guys.

Browsed around the site a bit. Picked up a 1987 240GL today. All seems well, but there are some problems.

Most of the all speedometer. It works okay until it hits 46-47mph, then it stops all together. Couldn't really find a guide on how to fix that. Any ideas here?

The other minor issue is the door handle on the drivers side has popped out of the door. I gotta hold it in as best I can and try to pull the handle. How is this fixed? Tried to find a guide, but no luck.

Other than that the car is cherry. Need a piece of trim and a lens cover, but all is well.

Thanks and take care.

The easiest fix on the outside door handle is to get one from the rear door from a junkyard. Front and back are identical. The back ones usually have less wear. There's a pin that breaks. Not hard to fix but you need to remove the inside door panel and all the stuff on the inside door panel.

try www.car-part.com for used parts, you can sort by distance to see if there is a salvage yard with volvo stuff near you.

Okay got the door handle fixed.

The last issue is the speedometer. It will work OK until it hits 46-47 mph or so. Then it stops. Is this a speedometer sensor? A speedometer unit problem? If its the sensor, where is it located?

And the last question... I have a B230F engine, I believe. SOHC...is it a non-interferance head or no?

Thanks

non interference. The piston should not hit the valves if the timing belt breaks.
