Default 1988 Volvo 760 Turbo Intercooler Sedan

My question is on my 88 760 Turbo and where "if any" on the car would a mechanic plug in the tester equipmentthat checkscomputer codes on this model? I don't have the equipment to test the codes, but was curious to where this is done on this model 760. Oh and what tester would one use for this car as well. I have a Haynes book on the car but it doesn't address this question. The reason I'm looking for this informationis I have a small miss in the engine that is just enough to bother me and I have had to do some other work to it recently and if I have someone work on it I want to try know what they are telling me when they diagnose the problem. The recent work on the car was to fix a stalling problem, well $700 later I still had the same problem and I think I ended up fixing the problem myself with replacing the "Fuel pump relay switch" but I can't really prove the other work was done for nothing ..at least not legally.

Your car does not have this facility.

From 1989 model year thenon-turbo was fitted with the OBD1 box in the engine bay but the turbo computer could only be interrogated by the dealer usinga calibration test unit.

Billofdurham,
Thanks for your quick response and the information. A backyard mechanic had looked at the car the other day and couldn't find it, but he was also sure there was one. I didn't think he knew what he was talking about and you just confirmed it. The car has a minor
"miss" when at idle that buggs me and I just don't have the place (live in apartments) to dive into the car and trouble shoot it myself ,nor the tools anymore. I guess I'm going to have to break down and take it to a professional to troubleshoot the problem. I've changed the wires and plugs. I might go ahead and change the distributer cap and rotor as well since its a pretty easy fix. Anyway I'm rambling and again thanks again for your help from across the "Big Pond"!!!!
