Default 1989 740T governor location?

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to locate the governor on my 89 740T. Id like to remove it. Does anyone know where it is located?

Governor is in the state house... Which governor are you referring to? If you mean top speed/RPM limiter, that would be in the ECU, and removing it is a performance chip thing...

I didn't think there even WAS a 'speed' governor on these, just a max RPM, it cuts the fuel off at the redline so you don't blow up the engine.

to go higher RPM, you'd need stronger valve springs to prevent valve float. and probably forged pistons, rods, and god knows what all else if you want to do it more than once.
