I have a 1989 240 DL i'm cleaning up and the switch to let the rear seatback down is broken, it's just a flimsy plastic piece.

Is there a way to bring the seat down with out the handle/switch?

 

I guess that you're referring to the wagon model. See the dealer. There were a lot of those cars produced and parts are still readily available.

 

I have two wagons and both of these are broken. The parts can be sourced online. I have had great luck with Tasca Volvo out of Rhode Island, they have a great online parts department. In the meantime you can use a screwdriver to pull down or up on the cable that releases the seat.
