Default 1990 240 sedan MPG?

My odometer doesn't function so I can't do an estimate. What kind of mpg does your AT sedan get?

Thanks!

I always got around 20 or so. Dont remember how many miles to empty. Odometer can be fixed with kit from IPD. Even if the mileage is not accurate it will help with the gas milage figuring.

Well, a lot depends on driving habits and the condition of the vehicle. Average around town is roughly 14-16 and highway 21-23. I'm sure others will chip in with their mileage; I've heard of some getting 30 on the highway but I haven't seen it. The 240's weren't economy cars and it takes some gasoline to haul all that steel around.

MT tranny here. BUT, i've always got over 27 freeway. Even loaded down cross country driving with the ac on. I inherited the car from an uncle who took great care of it and who told me he got around 30 freeway. I didn't really believe him and was shocked the first time I checked the MPG and it was over 30! I discovered that the miles on the odometer click off faster than they should (about 4-5% off)so it wasn't quite that good. Since then I've used GPS for the miles and I've never got over 29 but 28 is pretty average. 2 cents.
