1990 240GLE UK model - won't start
Hi,
I'm new to the 240 (used to run a 740, though). Mine's a UK spec 1990 GLE, which has run well up to now. Yesterday morning I started her, she ran for about 10 seconds and stopped as I reversed out of my parking space. When I tried to restart, the engine turned but that was all. I definitely have a spark, there's gas in the tank, and the air supply seems to be OK. The pump fiuse was not blown, but I've replaced it anyway. My brother in law reckons there may be an interia switch/emergency cut out to the pump which may have activated. I don't have a manual that covers the model, so I'm stumped. Can anyone help?
Is there indeed a fuel cut-off switch (and, if so, where is it and what does it look like)? Can it be reset or bypassed?
How can the pump be accessed? Do I need to remove the gas tank, or is it accessible with the tank still in situ? If the pump needs to be removed, is it a long difficult job?
Thanks
William
