Default 1990 Volvo 240 DL no fire won’t start

Hi I’m new here and trying to help my son.
his Volvo turns over but won’t start.
I’ve replaced the coil, the distributer cap and rotor, and the crankshaft position sensor. After replacing the CPS it ran great and then just stopped again.
i replaced all four components again and this time nothing.
any help would be appreciated.

What codes area stored? Do you know how to check them? Is the fuel relay working properly? Do you have injector pulse, spark, compression, cam timing is correct and what's the fuel pressure?

A poor man's quick way to troubleshoot is to get a can of starting fluid. Spray about a 2 second burst of starting fluid into the air filter intake (engine side of the filter housing) and try to start. If car tries to start or starts and runs for a second or two, then you have good spark and a fuel delivery or injector problem. If it doesn't try to start, then you have a spark/electrical issue. Once you know if it is a fuel issue or a spark issue you can troubleshoot further. Main thing is please stop throwing parts at it as that will get real spendy real fast.

it doesn’t seem to have codes stored. We can check them. Relays and all seem to be working just no spark at plugs.

Default No spark

It’s pumping fuel to the injectors. No spark at the plugs.

If the injectors are firing (making a clicking noise you can hear with a stethoscope, or a flash on your noid light) that means the engine speed sensor is working. Is there spark at the coil? (I've seen plenty of bad distributor rotors)

Default Update

The problem was the ignition control module. It wasn’t allowing the coil to fire so no spark anywhere. Replaced the ICM and problem solved.
