1991 240 Horn not working
Hi all,
I read posts about horns not working and troubleshooting and am looking for further help. The wipers work so I kind of ruled out fuse. I checked connection at the horn and they appear fine. I kind of loose the wires from the horn when I'm tracing because they go into a black sleeve under the hood. So I'm not sure where else to look under the hood for wiring. I tried to take the air bag off to check wirinig on the steering wheel under the air bag. While trying to take the bottom steering column off I noticed there is apparently one screw for the steering column behind the leg well area and I can't get to the screws of the air bag without removing the bottom part of the steering column. Is there anyway to remove the bottom steering column without taking off the entire leg well thing?
Thanks

you need the suitable sized torx bit for a 3/8" or 1/2" ratchet, they are fairly big bolts (but I forget what size), a fair bit of torque. same as the seat belt anchors, they are part of the cars safety system.
In my experience, the knee bolster bolts can be removed using the torx screwdriver kit that came in the toolbox with the car. That is what I always used to remove it. Now if someone cranked down on them, you can use a small socket and use it to turn the torx bit from the toolkit. That should get it off.
