1991 240 Transmission drain plug?
Hello all!
This week I replaced the kickdown cable, filter, and pan gasket on my AW70 auto transmission. Unfortunately, the drain plug decided to mangle itself upon removal. I managed to get it back in, but the plug is destroyed and is leaking transmission fluid. I'm hoping the pan is ok, but I won't know until I remove the plug again.
FCP has a plug for $2.50, but they want $10 for shipping. I was told by someone that it should me an M14 plug, but I'm not sure if it is an M14x1, or 1.5, or whatever...
Can anyone confirm the plug size so I can just get one at Fastenal or home depot.
Thanks in advance!

any local Volvo dealer should be able to order that plug for maybe more than $2.50 but certainly less than $12.50.
can't say I know the threads, can't you measure them on your existing plug?

I have a thread block at work but the threads on the plug are so mangled it did me no good. I did a little research and concluded that it is a M10x1.5. So I went to home depot and got a non-flanged bolt. I will just use a washer and it should be good.
I just use a caliber or ruler, and measure the width of however many threads is practical to measure, then divide the millimeters by the thread count. if 5 threads are 7.5mm, then 7.5/5 == 1.5, eg, its 1.5mm thread pitch.
Hmm, I'll have to remember that for future reference!
