RE: 1991 740 hard starting rough idle
Hello fellow Volvo Driver,
the best I can suggest as to what you describe, uhm, is that to first clean the throttle body. second, eithe charge your Volvo's battery or replace it. For you see, I had a similiar ailment, or rather my Volvo did. A hard turn-over and after which a "rough" idle, it would have spurts or jolts as indicated by the RPM readout and an unpleasant feeling as though my Volvo was hiccuping...anyways, a cleaning of the throttle body and later on a charge of the battery cleared it all up. I suggest a new battery, and with that have the alternator charge capacity checked.
If this does not resolve anything just post again or appearantly try a different Volvo forum. For i am no expert but i will send my experience on solo accounts.
