1991 745 "brake" light.
hello all,
i am a new volvo owner. just bought it(182200 miles). it runs great!
however, when i apply the brake pedal, particularly on an incline
(or decline, for that mater), the "brake" light comes on. it stops fine, no pedal fade, just that darn light!
i checked ther fluid level and it is at the "min" line mark.
thanks and i hope to be a volvo owner for many years!

If the fluid level is at the min mark try topping off to max and see if it still does it.Your car may have the sensor that tells you when your fluid is low.

It's worth noting that many cars' brake pads are wearing thin at the time the fluid level reaches the MIN mark and starts illuminating the Warning Lamp.
So, I suggest pulling a front wheel and checking the thickness of the pads.

Yes I agree I kinda missed that but was also trying to get more info.Like whether it was the brake light or brake light failure light. Also most of the time the pads will go metal to metal before the brake light comes on.That has been my experiance with the 740's.The car that is the most sensitive is the S/V40.
Thanks for the catch I missed.
