1991 745T Mods and Upgrades
Testing is basicly done. Some fine tuning, but that is it. No noise in the lines which is good. nice clean sound. testing was done with a 12in gti.
main control area (this area will get a better mount setup, but for now, it is fine):

Terrible pic, but it is alive:

Amp controlls (sub gain is slightly turned down now):

Here is what will go in:

The four 8in's should be as good as the 12in (more airflow at the same excursion), but the 8in's can't handle as much power as the 12in.

Took a break from the stereo to change the oil pan.
Pan removed:

New Pan installed:

Magnetic drain plug will go in once motor is lowered.
Not the easiest thing to remove while the engine is still in the car.
I will finish it tomorrow.
Only regret is not getting new motor mounts while I have this apart.

Update..
Well took the cap off, and it wasn't that dry, but not enough to do anything.
But what I did find is the connector for cylinder plug number 4 is bent, and cracked inside the cap. Probably from when we lifted the motor. time for new cap...

Update...
Well, it was the cap, but not because of the oil.

it seemed like it was running on 3 cylinders because it was sort of.
Forgot to remove the dizzy cap to lift the motor, and it cracked. opps.
Now... to finish the stereo.

Test fitted the borbets (rims for the 240) when changing the tires.
what you think?

Not as wide as I want for the 240:

the bumpers needs some treatment an headlights need to be changed

Thanks
Update:
Finally put carpet on the panels and painted the cones black.

The carpet is different, but it it's okay.
Need to fiberglass the insides, then seal the holes which vent into the main floor cargo area. then finish sealing the door panels, and quiet some of the rattles in the rear. Then make the grill to cover the speakers to protect/hide them.
I almost done with her. Then My bro takes the car over this summer, and I move on to the 240. I am getting sad just thinking about that day, but the car is safe, reliable, is fairly quick, and he should enjoy it.
New thread for the 240 coming very soon. just need to get in some parts then I can work on that car. I got bigger plans for that car

Smogged the 745T on saturday. Passed with the 3" turboback and highflow cat, chips...etc. I put the stock airbox (basicly brand new filter) back in for the visual part, but my guy is pretty cool and wouldn't have cared. burns fairly clean, just at the max of the HC's.
I dont remember if the weight is tested with or without the tech, but 3375lbs isn't bad for a 91 wagon... it is about the same as an 05 evo, and lighter than the newer ones

I have a 93 940 wagon (non turbo)which is what? 2 years later than your model, so I thought I would ask you an electrical question-Hope you can help. If I'm out of line, please forgive, I"M NEW as of today---
My passenger side power window goes down, but not up- both driver side switches get nothing on the 'up' selection, so I didn't think it to be the switch, though I checked the passenger side one.
I am guessing it to be the motor, so will go into the door on passenger side. is there anything else I should check?
Thanks for reading,
940 nut

the 740 has the same problem right now. Try cleaning the switches. the motor will probably need to be replaced. mine does. it has been like this for a couple years, but i just haven't replaced it yet.
