Hello everyone!

I am in the process of restoring a 91 240 5spd with front foglights. The mounts that the foglights are attached to are very rusty and I am afraid they are going to break off. I cannot seem to find the parts online. Does anyone know where I can find these brackets? Thanks!

 

pretty sure no 1991 240 came with fogs, those were aftermarket adds, most likely. where are they mounted, under the bumper?

what brand are the foglights? if they are something major-brand like Hella or whatever, then its possible parts are available for them (for Hella specifically, try contacting these guys, they have given me great customer service in the past Rally Lights, Hella, TerraTrip, Hans, WRC, ZAMP )

 

They are located under the bumper yes. They are square fogs which I was told were installed by the dealer in 1991 when the previous owner purchased the car new. I guess they could be an aftermarket kit the dealer had? I can check when I get back to the car this weekend to be sure of the brand. Great looking 740 btw... Im currently looking for a set of those hydra wheels for my 240.

 

I wouldn't put 16's on a 240 daily driver, the ride will be way harsh.


edit: oh, and yeah, those were aftermarket. they may have come from a Volvo accessory catalog, but they were still aftermarket. do the glass lenses have any markings on them, Bosch, Hella, Cibie are common...

frankly, I'd just find some new fogs a similar size, that site I linked before has the full lineup of Hella stuff which is excellent quality. Me, I like the MicroDE fogs, they are little round bullet lights, thats whats under my 740 T wagon's bumper... they have an excellent fog pattern, and last quite a long time. I put yellow H3 bulbs in them
