Default 1992 240 Compressor Change Difficulty

I'm wondering how difficult it is to change the AC compressor on my 240 volvo. My AC has been blowing progressively less cool. It finally stopped blowing cool air altogether. I've checked the freon, which is just where it needs to be, and the compressor itself ticks loudly when engaged. I've found a rebuilt compressor for about $250 or so and it appears no harder to change than an alternator.

If this is the case I'll "get to wrenchin'", but I'm wondering if there is some reason this isn't a do-it-yourself job.

Thanks,

Mark

In order to change the compressor you must remove the refrigerant from the system, If you don't have the necessary vacuum equipment it will definitely not be a do-it-yourself job.
