I'm replacing my front countershaft and input shaft bearings. How did you extract the input shaft bearing? Also, can you describe how you used angle pliers to remove the countershaft bearing, pull one side and then another? Your c/s bearing appears to be in good shape.

How to remove fifth gear housing

To whom it concerns..... I was able to remove the counter shaft bearing by prying it out with a set of crooked end needle nose players.. and I took the 5th gear housing off to allow the counter shaft to drop in the front.
the input shaft pulled out so now I am waiting on a new inpitbshaft bearing and I will try to put this thing back together. Thank you to everyone who helped me through this... hopefully it works when I put t back together. Check out the countershaft tip... it’s pretty chewed up. But the bearing rolls smooth and does not look bad at all. Maybe this is where the knocking was coming from. Who knows??? Here are some pictures of the transmission being torn apart maybe they will help some one in the future.
