I'm looking to replace the select shaft seal on my 1992 240GL but have been told it's a discontinued part. I'd really like to find the OEM instead of an aftermarket one. Please let me know where I can find one. Thanks.

The AW70/71 transmission has been used in a number of cars other than Volvo. Still, it's a bit old in design. While Volvo may no longer stock the seal, the seal is still available from a variety of suppliers. True, they may not say Volvo on the baggy, but they are quality product. If you can't find one locally, shoot me a PM as I have them here at the shop.
Select shaft=shift shaft. Refers to the seal on the case where the shifter linkage goes into the case on an automatic.

 

I believe this is the gear selector shaft seal, my VADIS says it uses 2 of them.

also this sleeve, not sure if thats part of the seal or not, but its shown as the last thing on the shaft

wait, MANUAL transmission? ok, forget those PN's, those were for the AW70 automatic.

you can also order it at any Volvo dealer's parts counter, and probably save a bundle on shipping and handling.
