1990 240 GL Diesel Fuel line leak
I'm sure most of you are scratching your head like whhhat is that.
I bought a grey market car, it's a german model.
Its got about 440,000 km on it roughly 250,000 miles, but when it starts it's a beast.
So it is an inline 6, 5 speed manual transmission.
I need to get a new fuel line because one of the tubes/pipes is cracked and it is leaking diesel. Does anyone know where I can get parts for it?
Also the starter takes a while to get going, i wonder if it is because of the fuel line leak?

Is it a VW/Audi diesel like the older 240 had? If so you should be able to find one in a junkyard. Other wise I would say English, Swedish, or German Ebay. Best of luck. Yeah the fuel leak could be your slow starting issue, the diesel pump could loose its prime each time you turn it off. Your lucky it starts, some diesel pump have to be primed any time they loose pressure.

new car dealers really don't like to touch cars over 10 years old. frankly, they don't even see many over 5 years old. And I doubt ANY mechanic working at a dealer has ever even SEEN a D24 engine.
fabricating a fuel line is pretty straight forward stuff. I have a 1965 pickup with custom made rear brake lines as they rotted away. mechanic made a set out of the nickle-copper-whazza stuff used on newer cars, much better than the old steel stuff used in the 60s.
