1992 DL-240 SRS Light Reset Needed
How do you reset the SRS light on the dash??? By accident the white wire and snap connector came off the SRS module (airbag) when the ignition sw was ON.....dumb me of coarse. I was troubleshooting a horn contact problem in the steering wheel (I thought). Actual problem was at the connector to the horn behind the grill. Now the SRS light is ON constantly and so annoying.
VOLVO manual (Bently) does not talk about SRS reset and indicates I have to bring it to VOLVO dealer ASAP.
vehicle is a 1992 VOLVO, DL-240, 131,500 miles.
Thx....enjoy the VOLVO forum. Great people and lots of experience here.

under the hood, you have a diagnostic block.... does it have an A and B block side by side? If so, I believe B5 is the SRS, you'd plug the jumper wire in there, turn the ignition on (but don't start the car), and press the button for 1 second, release it, and read a code out as 3 groups of blinks, much the same as the EFI and Ignition diagnostics. if you get anything other than 1-1-1, then press it another second and release, repeat this until you get the same as the first code.
after reading all the codes (they won't clear if they haven't been read), press the button for at least 5 seconds, release it, the light should go on, press the button again fro another 5 seconds, release, and the codes should clear.
go ahead and post any code(s) you get here and I'll look them up.

[SOLVED]....my SRS Light is OUT in my 1992 VOLVO DL-240, B-230F, auto, no rust, all original 131,500 mi
(1) No B-block in engine compartment. SRS access cable in console behind panel marked "SRS" and between R/W DEFROSTER and EMERG FLASHER SW's. Pry panel OFF carefully, remove cigarette lighter ****;
(2) Make jumper between SRS cable (6-8 in) and cigarette lighter metal case, GND for 2-5 seconds, IGN switch is ON (may have to dissemble SRS connector for easy access to pin in cable, single strand wire for jumper is very convenient);
(3) remove GND, SRS will flash indicating code stored in memory. Mine flashed 5x, (i created fault, disconnected SRS module at steering wheel w/ IGN sw ON...not good!!!!)
(4)Quickly GND again 3x within 5 seconds momentary gnd at cigarette lighter, SRS light should go OFF. If not repeat again, sequence and timing very important.
Hope this helps...my car is 26 years old, SRS only good for 15 years says VOLVO....dah!!!!!
Good luck...SRS light must be OFF for Vermont inspection, assume other states also.
