1993 240 electrical problem
About a week ago, I went to start my car. The battery had run dead (lights left on), so I had it jump started. The abs and srs lights were lit. I started driving, and the srs light went out. Then the abs light started flashing, and about 10 seconds later, the entire electrical system cut out(headlights, four-way flashers, power steering, et cetera) and the engine stopped. I tried to start it, but there was no response from the starter. I have since tried repeatedly to start the vehicle, but to no avail. Any ideas?
you can buy a cheap volt/alternator meter at harborfreight for 5 dollars.....
very easy to use:
connects to + & - terminals and has two sections...one for the battery and the other for the alt....
both methods of testing: while car on and while off.....
1) check the alternator belt tension...and the bushings on the mounting block...
2) check the grounds for corrosion or loose...

Your battery is discharged, and your alternator is probably failing as well, may be due to a fault in the dash lights, may be it's worn out, may be a wiring problem... It's a combination of those, there are no fuses to check. First get the battery well charged, go from there.
