I shut down my 93 940 and went into the grocery store, when i returned and tried to start it it would turn over but would not start. acts like it is not getting any fuel, could the pump have gone out?

 

It could be many things.

But first you need to check for spark and then fuel. If you have both then it should run.

If not then if you have no fuel then look at the relay first before the fuel pump.

If you have no spark then you need to look at the power stage and other things.

 

the same thing happened to me a couple weeks ago..i needed a new fuel sensor and new fuel pump unfortunately..good luck!

 

i have a 940 se 1991 model, same problem as other member. i have done all the same plus i changed the brain, used same type with identical bar code and coresponding numers,car still not going even had an auto spark at it for two days.please can someone shed some light or sadly will have to scrap one ofthe best looking 940s in the west lothian,scotland area. if someone wants to buy the car who has time to play around make me an offer,motd until may 2006,4door saloon auto/
