1993 960 wagon died and won't start
For the second time in two years, my car has just quit running and won't start. The first time, I was told to try jump starting it myself which I did.
It still wouldn't start and when it got to the dealer, I was told the fuel
injector part had gone bad and flooded the engine with gas...causing the
engine irrepairable damage. Bought used engine for $5000. It's been
running fine since then, a little over a year and many miles. Now while
driving down the highway three weeks ago, it just quit again. I had it
towed to a volvo repair shop which does not have complete computer
diagnosis. They have checked everything they thought it could have been
and don't know why it won't start. So I'm faced with having it towed to
the place that sold me the engine. I love my car, but I'm afraid of being
told I need big repairs again. Any advice or tips on what could be wrong?
Could it have anything to do with oil...mixing semi synthetic with straight
oil?

has nothing to do with mixing the oil....however I do recommend you go to full synthetic oil and not a blend, it will protect your engine a lot better!!!! not sure why your car has just stopped...could be a solenoid or some type of electrical problem....just hold tight and someone who has had a similar issue or experience should be able to help you with this...

You usually have some kind of symptoms before a car dies. Did you have a CEL? How old is the battery?
I would never do a repair that exceeds the value of the car. A used engine for $5,000? Wow! Did you try to start it? Does it crank? What else works? What else doesn't? How old is the timing belt?
Post this in the 960 section.
