Default 1994 940 Windshield molding

So, I just purchased a 1994 Volvo 940 turbo 4dr sedan. Overall the car is beautiful, but the windshield molding is rusted and wont stay on.

My question:

Is there a way to fix the molding? ie, remove the rust and repaint. If so, how would I go about doing that? Would I be able to somehow glue the molding back onto the car?

I've spent the last few days searching the net to find replacement molding. Nobody sells this anymore. I live in rural Oregon so salvage yards are not an option.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can strip it and paint it but if it won't snap on the channels that fit onto the clips the channels are probably distorted and they are hard to fix once they have lost their shape. Sorry, you but junkyards are your best bet.
