1995 940 fog light wiring
1995 VOLVO 940 NON FOG LIGHT VEHICLE. ZIP TIED TO THE HEADLAMP WIRING HARNESS IS POSSIBLE A CONNECTOR FOR THE FOG LIGHTS. IS IT SAFE TO ASSUME THE OTHER END OF THE HARNESS IS NEAR THE DASH AREA.i WOULD LIKE TO ADD DRIVING/FOG LIGHTS AT A LATER DATE. BEING PRE WIRED WOULD SAVE SOME TIME.

you need A) the foglamp switch 1362337, which replaces the rear fog switch with a 3-way switch, and B) the fog lamp relay 9130270, which goes into relay position F behind the ashtray.
note they are wired so they will only come on if the headlight low/main beams are on, not if the high beams are on, so this is specifically for foglamps. you'd need to muck around under the fuse/relay panel to change this. I believe the modification would be to identify the green wire running from relay F pin 4(85) to fuse 19, and instead move it to fuse 21.... this way the 'fog' lamps could be turned on any time the parking lights are on. NOTE THAT PARKING LIGHTS CAN BE LEFT ON WITH THE IGNITION OFF SO IF YOUR (modified circuit) FOG LAMPS ARE ON THEY WILL FLATTEN YOUR BATTERY.
I wouldn't use more than 55 watt foglamps. I mounted Hella MicroDE fogs under my bumper, and am quite happy. I use Hella/Optilux Extreme Yellow XY H3 bulbs in them.

up close.
note the angle, I had to dremel out a hole in the underskirt above the back of the lamp so they'd level out. alternately, I could have used a spacer block to lower the front, but I wanted them as tucked up as possible to reduce the probability of banging parking barriers with them. My original plan was to mount them BEHIND the skirt just peaking out but that would have required fabricating a bracket and this seemed more expedient.
